Teaching IT in rural areas equips children and young adults with essential IT skills that are need of this time, improves their access to information, and creates opportunities for digital & economic growth and social development.

Online Business Hubs for Youth

For vulnerable youth, particularly those from marginalized communities, orphanages, or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, acquiring IT skills can provide valuable pathways to education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Digital Inclusion

Digital inclusion is essential for equitable development and is a key component of Rwanda's vision for a knowledge-based economy. However, many rural communities still face systemic barriers that hinder access to technologies, for vulnerable girls, people with disabilities, and adults.

Empowering Young IT Learners and Innovators

Empowering rural children by providing access to information technology (IT), research opportunities, and innovation has resulted in significant improvements in educational development and community growth. As a result, children and young adults in underserved rural areas are becoming not only proficient users of technology but also active contributors to innovative solutions that tackle both local and global challenges.

Training Courses

These courses are designed for IT professionals at various levels, offering free courses in beginner/fundamentals, intermediate, and advanced levels. Available subjects include coding, graphic design, Python/AI, web development, mobile application development, networking, data science, cybersecurity, robotics, game design, and more.

Training Approach

The DTI Center offers practical and theoretical IT training in both Kinyarwanda and English languages, enabling inclusive learning, digital literacy, and economic empowerment for children and youth in rural areas.

Training Levels

The DTI Center offers a variety of courses organized into three levels of teaching and training:

  • Basic Level

This level provides digital literacy and foundational courses, equipping learners with essential knowledge and practical skills.

  • Intermediate Level

Building on the basics, this level focuses on more advanced courses.

  • Advanced Level

This level offers optional specialized courses that allow learners to concentrate on specific IT fields that align with their career goals and competencies.
